RULES:
- Only one entry per person.
- On the entry forms, there will be spaces to pick 5 races at Remington and 5 races from Retama, on Sept. 11-12, 2009. You will receive two entry forms (one for each day) when you sign up for the tournament. A hypothetical $2 win and $2 place wager will be placed on a contestant’s picks in the 10 races each day. Each entrant will choose a top pick in each of the 5 races of his/her choosing at Remington Park and Retama. All 10 selections each day MUST BE TURNED IN AT THE SAME TIME!!!! THIS IS NOT A RACE-BY-RACE ENTRY TOURNAMENT!!! Each entrant will also select an alternate horse for each of the 10 races in case his/her top pick is scratched. If a top pick scratches, the $2 win & $2 place hypothetical wager will go on the alternate horse the contestant chooses.
- If your first choice and alternate choice both scratch, you will be assigned the post-time favorite for that race. If you are at Fair Meadows and both horses scratch, you will be allowed a substitute horse or race if you let Richard Linihan, Don Fontenot or money room attendant know in advance of the race going off (bell rings).
- Each entry form will be numbered, so they can not be duplicated. You must show picture ID if there is any question of whether you are 21 years of age or older. You will be assigned two numbered entry forms for the two-day tournament.
- These entry forms must be filled out IN FULL with your handicapping selections (program #’s and names of top pick and alternate horses). If you do NOT fill them out completely, you may be disqualified from the tournament. After the forms have been filled out with your selections, they can be dropped off at the Fair Meadows Racing & Sports Grill at the programs desk or in Richard Linihan’s office on north end of the building (square glass window in office door) no later than 6:15 p.m. on Friday and 6:15 p.m. Saturday. You may, if you choose, turn in both days at once.
- If you are unsure about anything, contact Fair Meadows Marketing Director Richard Linihan at 744-1113 ext. 3613.
- By entering this tournament, each player declares and represents the following:
“In consideration of my participation in this Tournament, I do hereby irrevocably authorize you or your licensees to print, publish, televise or otherwise distribute and use photographs or likenesses of me. In addition, I declare that I am over 21 years of age and that I am not an employee of Fair Meadows at Tulsa, Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority, Expo Square, or any other sponsor or affiliated companies for this Tournament.
Further, all participants who are licensed in horse racing, either by a state or by a track, shall identify themselves to tournament officials prior to the first day of the tournament, and identify any potential interest they have in any races eligible for this tournament. These licensees include, but are not limited to owners, trainers, jockeys, track officials, jockey agents and all licensed track employees.
Participants discussed in the above paragraph are ineligible to wager, for tournament purposes, on any race in which they have a horse competing and/or any other affiliation to a horse. Failure to abide by this rule may result in disqualification from this tournament.
PRIZES
TOP FIVE FINISHERS:
Qualify for Tournament of Champions at Fair Meadows at Tulsa scheduled for Nov. 13-14, 2009. That tournament will determine the two-person team that Fair Meadows at Tulsa will send to the $750,000 Coast Casino’s Horseplayer World Series in February 2010. As part of the Fair Meadows at Tulsa team, the winners will have tournament $1,000 entry fee, airfare and hotel paid for the trip.
Please read this section carefully. Failure to abide by any and all
contest rules may result in disqualification.
- Any mythical bet placed on a race for any track other than Remington or Retama will be considered NO BET and no substitute bet will be made.
- Horse’s name will be the criteria from which the judges will grade your entries. If the horse’s name you wrote down is not legible (can’t be read easily by the judges), the horse’s number will be the next criteria. If that, too, is illegible, you will receive NO BET for that race and no substitute wager will be made.
- There is no show, exacta, trifecta or other exotic wagers in this contest.
- There will be a CAP (high payoff limit) placed on ALL PAYOFFS. The Win CAP is 20-1 ($42) and the Place CAP is ($22 payoff). If your horse pays off more than $42 on a Win payoff, you will receive only $42 for your mythical bankroll. If your horse pays more than $22 on a Place payoff, you will receive only $22 for your mythical bankroll
- Entries and field horses. You will NOT receive ALL the horses that are part of an entry or field if you make a part of that entry or field your top choice. If half of the entry scratches, you will receive your alternate horse and not the other half of the entry. If you want the other half of the entry as your alternate, write that on the alternate line.
- Your selection will be judged solely on the basis of how your top choice (only one horse) finishes or your alternate choice (only one horse) if your top pick is scratched.
SCORING
- The five contestants compiling the most amount of mythical money in his/her bankrolls through the aforementioned rules over a two-day period will be the qualifiers for the Tournament of Champions in November at Fair Meadows Racing & Sports Grill. If there is a tie for fifth place, all those tied will qualify for the T of C. If there are players who finish in the top five of this tournament who have already qualified for November, we will go to the next player down until five players have been added to the Tournament of Champions (including ties).
PRIZE MONEY
1) The top three players in the tournament will receive $200 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third, respectively. If there are ties, prize money will be added together and split. For example, if there is a tie for first and second, $200 and $100 will be added together and each player will split that - $150 each.
RESULTS
- Standings after the first round will be posted by 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, on the bulletin boards at Fair Meadows Racing & Sports Grill.
- Unofficial final standings will be posted by 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Fair Meadows Racing & Sports Grill and on the bulletin board inside.
- Any disputes concerning the judging and grading of contestants’ entry forms will be looked into and a judgment will be made by a Fair Meadows Committee. All players must abide by the Committee’s final decision.
- If there are no disputes concerning the unofficial final standings by 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, the unofficial final standings will then become official and posted at the bulletin boards of the Fair Meadows Racing & Grill. If you have a dispute, you MUST CALL 744-1113 ext. 3613 and leave a message with Tournament Director Richard Linihan by the previously mentioned deadline. Any complaints made after the deadline will be considered null and void.
